The Bottom Line (Shawn Taylor © 2007) Dylan lost his job today Walked on in & they walked him away Said nothing personal, sorry, have a nice day. While on the market the
stocks are high Dylan's wife hangs her head to cry She feels the future kicking on the inside.
Outsource America, But won't you save a piece for me? Got a couple of mouths to feed Got my wife & my family. Outsource
America, But won't you save a piece for me It's all about the bottom line From sea to shining sea. Mary
lost her son today, An I.E.D. gone and wiped him away Ain't even got a body over to pray. Juan lost his life
today A man with a paper came & took it away, He signed his name & the man said, "Son, you're
on your way." Outsource America, But won't you save a piece for me? Got a couple of mouths to feed Got my wife & my family. Outsource America, But won't you save a piece for me ‘Cause he blessed
the land abroad From sea to shining sea, For you and for me. Donny cashed some stocks today Crumpled
‘em up and he tossed ‘em away Lit up a Cuban, said, "Tomorrow's a better day." 'Cause on the
market the barrel's high, & plenty of young folk are willing to try to secure the future for the people on the
inside.
Dime & a Bottle of Wine Shawn Taylor (©2009) Not sure just what I've been
a chasing, but it seems I've lost it along the way. Was it the question or the buzz that left you hanging
Like the smoke rings dissapating in your mind. Sometimes I loose my mind, that's no excuse & I'm not trying
to hide, One step ahead, one step behind, it all catches up with you in time. Give me a dime
& a bottle of wine, could always find some place to kill the time, but when you're not busy living boy you're
busy dying, testify, had to walk away, put it away. Open the door baby it's cold outside, & I don't have a key
please let me in. I'll mend my broken ways I'm sorry for the things I've said, for what I've done you know
I'm most ashamed. Some monkeys come to where you oh so thin, that you can't stop to turn the page. When reason's gone
& all that's left is sin, you're stuck on the inside looking in. Give me a dime & a bottle
of wine, could always find some place to kill the time, but when you're not busy living boy you're busy
dying, testify, had to walk away, put it away. Remember the clouds up where we stood high once before, bedore
my fall, before you closed the door. The seeds we planted are all grown up & are on thier own, You're free of
me but these memories I roam. Sometimes I loose my mind, there's no escape you just get left behind, like smoke-rings
blowing through your mind, it all catches up with you in time. Give me a dime & a bottle of wine, could always find some place to kill the time, but when you're not busy living boy you're busy dying, testify, had to walk away, put it away. Not sure just what I've been a chasing
Time For Us
Shawn Taylor (©2009) It's 3 a.m.,
the Baby's sleeping in the other room, Looks like there might be time for us. So pour the wine, pull down the shade,
spin some "Kind of Blue," There's just a couple things we might discuss. We could lay this whole night together, Laugh until the sun comes up, Great another day. We could walk this whole world together, And be at home
right where we lay. So when your walls are closing in, And the floors begun to drop away, We've got her smile,
and I've got yours, And you've got mine, And there'll be brighter days yet to come somewhere. We can walk
this whole world together, Underneath the stars at night, On a mountain high. We can walk this whole world
together, And be at home right where we lie. So pack your things, come-on, we're leaving in the morning, Got
to stop our talk and make our getaway. ‘Cause life is short, you know it's gone without a warning, so you
can't up and just let it slip away. We can walk this whole world together, Underneath the stars at night, By the
ocean side. We could walk this whole world together, And be at home right where we lie. It's 3 a.m., the Baby's sleeping
in the other room, Looks like there might be time for us. So pour the wine, pull down the shade, spin some "Kind
of Blue," There's just a couple things we might discuss. We could lay this whole night together, Laugh
until the sun comes up, Greet another day. We could walk this whole world together, And be at home right where
we lay. And be at home right where we lay.
Waves
(Shawn Taylor ©
2008) It’s heating up, no one can deny, no matter what side, no matter what Book one takes as right. Ain’t talking
about the weather, though there’s that too, talking about the friction between
them and us and me and you - Come on…. Come on from
there … Trickle down’s been trickling up pack around the table and fight for our crumbs, float a mortgage, light a candle, say a prayer. Water rising, seems it’s boiling to a head, the wheel keeps
spinning we’re breathing hard but the dream still hangs ahead. Come
on…. Come on from there…. [Chorus] Sometimes
the Waves hit in all the wrong places.Sometimes
the wind it blows foul from the top of the hill. When the water rises somehow we’ve just got to escape it. One day the tide is gonna’ wash the top of the hill. Swing your hammer, wait your tables, build your planes. Do
your duty, teach the kids, or clear the drains. Pay your taxes,
uncle’s mind is over filled with thoughts of revolution and carrying out God’s will. Come on…. Come on from there…. [Chorus] Levees, bridges, systems and people in need, hungry, desperate, tired, ravaged, diseased. Waves are rolling, fire’s burning overseas, witch hunts all around us, probing you and me. Come on!!!! Come on from there!!!!! Come on!!!!!!!! Come on from there!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [chorus]
Granite Highs & Muddy Lows (Taylor
© 2008)
Roll on over baby it's almost morning. Grab a cup of coffee, I've already packed the truck with everything,
that I could think, that we just might be needing; a space to breath in, a life to believe in, the tent & the dog, & the little
money we've been saving.
We'll drag our toes out in the sand, We'll bake ourselves for days on end, then we'll climb so
high that we leave the land. Anytime, Anywhere - doesn't really matter, it's the heart of the matter, the love & the laughter, the fears that your after, let's lift
our glasses & we'll toast our dreams
Here's to granite highs & muddy lows, ain't that the way the story goes? High in the sky or down below, I'll be with you all the way. I'll
be with you all the way.
Look up it's
all blue sky's ahead, our feet are wet, but the
flame still burns, the tidal wave's turned back
to land. Doors may slam, mirrors break, names not worth repeating, the lies & the leaving, the self deceiving, let's lift our glasses
& we'll toast our dreams.
[Chorus]
Drop your heavy thoughts into the well, let's
take a walk. Got nothing but time to kill & wide open space for empty thought. Any-time, anywhere, doesn't really matter, it's the heart of the matter, the love & the laughter the
fears that your after & the seeds we plant
along the way.
[Chorus]
I'll be with you all the way. I'll be with you all the way....

Edward Hayes (Shawn Taylor ©2001)
Edward Hayes was ready for the change, to the wind he sailed on the fourtune he'd just made. His working days were over, he
had won. No more 5 a.m. cold sunshine, instead he was on the run.
Edward Hayes was ready for that
change But, that change it never came.
Fifteen days, and all Crom's beds were cleared, not an oyster
left and that's when old Eddie dissapeared. Cromwell caught wind one sunny day and all of his dogs of war
set sail for that golden bay.
Edward Hayes was ready for that change but that change it never
came.
Edward Hayes grew old at sea, he sailed 'till his dying day for that dream he'd never see.
Cromwell died there that same dark night, on the seashore side both had crashed with the comming tide.
Edward Hayes was ready for that change, but that change it never came. Yes Edward Hayes was ready for
that change, but that change it never came.
Laughinson Shawn Taylor
(© 2001) Laughingson's laughing in the corner while the radio plays bad trips are swamping his head stares his eyes are blank...
The green wagon's getting closer the only one kind enough to stop and give
us a ride and the driver's getting toasted barefoot to the cold, putting down the wine a crazy man brought
us to town today screaming first ascent of the White Wolf and hanging from the rail staring down Dustin in
the dark of night and the shock of his tourtured face at the break of morning light
Laughingson's laughing
in the corner while the radio plays bad trips are swamping his head stares, his eyes are blank...
And if you had the chance to test me, he said, would you care to come along for the ride? Any last words you care
to confess to me, he said, 'cause I'll be back in the middle of the night. A crazy man brought us to town today screaming first ascent of the White Wolf and hanging from the rail seemed like such an oppourtune time to make
it on our way as our strange new firend seems to have gone a little crazy
Laughingson's laughing in the corner while the radio plays bad trips are swamping his head stares, his eyes are blank oh... Laughinson where
are you at?
The Lights of Burlington (lyrics by Shawn Taylor & music by
S.T./Andrew. Schoenfiel ©2001) Colors, Changing with the light, Rugged old Masfield Standing, Silent
watch Over, the northern skies. Pinlights, In the roof above our eyes, Cold October winds reacking, wavoc on the night-time world outside. Whispers usher with the breaze from the glowing lights of Burlington Of what
they all have heard and seen It'll come around our way one day Come around our way one day. Johnson, Pulling in with
the rain, Crowded cab with two big sheep in Some strange place we aint Never been Headed, For a cabin on
the edge of town, Early morning fog on dirt roads walkin' 'round lost with- out a sound. Mindset, Changin' with
the ride, Leavin' town with full guts, Heavy loads & thumbs pitched upwards towards the sky An old man, pulls his car along side to give us a ride Takes the load off our backs, Brings us onward, upwrd, closer
to the line. Whispers usher with the breaze from the glowing lights of Burlington Of what they all have heard and seen It'll come around our way one day Come around our way one day.
