Home
By Shawn Taylor

Everytime that I go Home
I drink a little too much beer.
And everytime that I go home
I remember why I ran away from there.
Everytime that I go home
I’m saying something that I probably shouldn’t have said.
Everytime that I go home
I always end up right back here.

Because there’s no place like home,
except for sometimes when you’re there,
and there’s no place like home,
now I wish I could go there.

Everytime I hit the road,
yes everytime that I go,
everytime that I leave,
no matter how far
no matter how long the road must go...

There’s no place like home,
except for sometimes when you’re there,
and there’s no place like home,
now I wish I could go there.

Lay down by the river,
here those trains roll by at night.
Sing the songs that we used to sing,
when you were still alive.

Everytime that I go home,
I rember why I came back here.
Everytime that I go home,
I can see your face in all of theirs’.
And everytime that I go home,
my disfunctions they don’t seem so bad.
Everytime that I go home,
I’m airing all the laundry that I have.

There’s no place like home,
no place like home,
and there’s no place like home,
There’s just no home without you there.

The Bottom Line
By Shawn Taylor

Dylan lost his job today
Walked on in & they walked him away
Said nothing personal, sorry, have a nice day.
While on the market the stocks are high
Dylan's wife hangs her head to cry
She feels the future kicking on the inside.

Outsource America,
But won't you save a piece for me?
Got a couple of mouths to feed
Got my wife & my family.
Outsource America,
But won't you save a piece for me
It's all about the bottom line
From sea to shining sea.

Mary lost her son today,
An I.E.D. gone and wiped him away
Ain't even got a body over to pray.
Juan lost his life today
A man with a paper came & took it away,
He signed his name & the man said,
"Son, you're on your way."

Outsource America,
But won't you save a piece for me?
Got a couple of mouths to feed
Got my wife & my family.
Outsource America,
But won't you save a piece for me
‘Cause he blessed the land abroad
From sea to shining sea,
For you and for me.

Donny cashed some stocks today
Crumpled ‘em up and he tossed ‘em away
Lit up a Cuban, said, "Tomorrow's a better day."
'Cause on the market the barrel's high,
& plenty of young folk are willing to try
to secure the future for the people on the inside.

 Shade

By Shawn Taylor

Lay your blanket in the shade
we could talk all day,
or we could just lay,
and say nothing abou tit all day.

Face to face either way,
in your arms is where I'll be
and where I'll aim to stay all day,
until they come here to drag me away.

Keep me out of that hot sun
I ship out in the morning,
keep me out of that hot sun,
I'll get enough of that over there.
I'll keep this day with me just cool my head out there.
So lay your blanket in the shade.

Lay your blanket in the shade,
down by the river where the creek it ends,
where the willows sway and the grasses sing,
we could both let loose of everything.

Lay your blanket in the shade,
no troubles here with us right now
and I hate to go away
hate to leave you here alone so far away.

Keep me out of that hot sun
I ship out in the morning,
keep me out of that hot sun,
I'll get enough of that over there.
And we'll meet right back here
after I have done my part.
So lay your blanket in the shade.

Lay your blanket in the shade
we could talk all day,
or we could just lay,
and say nothing abou tit all day.

Time For Us
By Shawn Taylor

It's 3 a.m., the Baby's sleeping in the other room,
Looks like there might be time for us.
So pour the wine, pull down the shade,
spin some "Kind of Blue,"
There's just a couple things we might discuss.

We could lay this whole night together,
Laugh until the sun comes up,
Great another day.
We could walk this whole world together,
And be at home right where we lay.

So when your walls are closing in,
And the floors begun to drop away,
We've got her smile, and I've got yours,
And you've got mine,
And there'll be brighter days
yet to come somewhere.

We can walk this whole world together,
Underneath the stars at night,
On a mountain high.
We can walk this whole world together,
And be at home right where we lie.

So pack your things, come-on, we're leaving in the morning,
Got to stop our talk and make our getaway.
‘Cause life is short, you know it's gone without a warning,
so you can't up and just let it slip away.

We can walk this whole world together,
Underneath the stars at night,
By the ocean side.
We could walk this whole world together,
And be at home right where we lie.

It's 3 a.m., the Baby's sleeping in the other room,
Looks like there might be time for us.
So pour the wine, pull down the shade, spin some "Kind of Blue,"
There's just a couple things we might discuss.

We could lay this whole night together,
Laugh until the sun comes up,
Greet another day.
We could walk this whole world together,
And be at home right where we lay.
And be at home right where we lay.

Waiting

By Shawn Taylor

I burn a cnadle in the window
I leave a light on by the door
I keep you in my dreams at night dear
right here so safe and warm

For every day that your not with us
For every day we've been appart
With every letter that I wrote you
I send my heart.

And you should feel that heart beating
Inside me ticking like a clock
It keeps me up at night counting
All the days 'till you come home
Come on home.

So now sometimes I fear the silence
I hear a shot and think you're gone
But that's just some old car on Main St.
And you're still far away from home.

So come on home you've got me waiting
And he'll be born now any day
And I can tell he's got your spirit
Because he's been fighting every day.

So I can't take the phone ringing
Black cars, or dusty roads at night
And I can't tkae that chior singing
If it won't bring you home at night
Come on home
Come on home
Come on home.

I burn  a candle in the window
I leave a light on by the door
I keep you in my dreams at night dear
Right here, so safe and warm
I keep you in my dreams at night dear,
Right here, so safe and warm.

Waves
By Shawn Taylor

It’s heating up, no one can deny,
no matter what side, no matter what Book
one takes as right.
Ain’t talking about the weather,
though there’s that too,
talking about the friction
between them and us
and me and you -
Come on….
Come on from there …

Trickle down’s been trickling up
pack around the table and fight for our crumbs,
float a mortgage, light a candle, say a prayer.
Water rising, seems it’s boiling to a head,
the wheel keeps spinning
we’re breathing hard
but the dream still hangs ahead.
Come on….
Come on from there….

 [Chorus]
Sometimes the Waves hit in all the wrong places.
Sometimes the wind it blows foul from the top of the hill.
When the water rises somehow we’ve just got to escape it.
One day the tide is gonna’ wash the top of the hill.

Swing your hammer, wait your tables, build your planes.
Do your duty, teach the kids, or clear the drains.
Pay your taxes, uncle’s mind is over filled
with thoughts of revolution
and carrying out God’s will.
Come on….
Come on from there….

 [Chorus]
Levees, bridges, systems and people in need,
hungry, desperate, tired, ravaged, diseased.
Waves are rolling, fire’s burning overseas,
witch hunts all around us, probing you and me.
Come on!!!!
Come on from there!!!!!
Come on!!!!!!!!
Come on from there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[Chorus]

Where’s The Bottom?
By Shawn Taylor

Can’t find the bottom, to this hole I’m in
Can’t see the light no more, I’m digging in
For a Long Fall, how Long must one fall
Before they get to the bottom of it all?

I’ve lived a long time, gone a long way
Wore out these two feet and drank most my pay
I’ve lived a long time, how long must one fall?
It’s a long, long fall.

Spare me some change, just a nickel or dime
Give me a lift and I’ll share you my wine
Lay me a pallet outside by your door
It’s a long way home.

It’s a long fall, how long must one fall
Before they get to the bottom of it all?
Coffee and cigarettes, whiskey and sin
It’s a long, long fall.

Take my breath, don’t take my mind
Take my liver, don’t take my wine
Take my pay, don’t take my time
And I’ll take my leave of it all.

 Don’t leave the light on,
Lock your back door
Don’t know that I’ll be coming around anymore.
It’s a long fall, how long must one fall
Before they get to the bottom of it all?
It’s a long, how long must one fall?

It’s a long, long fall.
It’s a long fall, how long must one fall
It’s a long, long fall.

I'm A Fool
By Shawn Taylor

I’ve done a lot of stupid things in my time
Monumental
Climbed to the top of my world
Fell down far below
With my foot in my mouth
A cold basement floor’s
about enough for me now
It keeps me warm
I ate my share of the pie
Now it seems the pie is all gone

 I’m a fool
I’m a fool

There I said it
I feel freer now
So kick off your shoes
Let down your hair
And let’s dance for a while
Dance like fools
I’m a fool

 It’s only money
it’s all pretend
And I’ll be right and I’ll be wrong
Both in the end
So don’t you worry
We’ll get it back soon
So let’s just dance
Until this crooked hour is through
Dance like fools
Dance like fools
I’m a fool
To throw it to the wind

 I’m a fool
I’m a fool
I’m a fool

Coffee
By Shawn Taylor

Would you like a little coffee?
Could you use a little cream?
Can I offer you some sugar?
I made it bold
Hope that’s ok

 We can talk all night
We can talk all night
We can talk all night tonight
We can talk all night
We can talk all night
Talk all night

Would you like a cup of coffee?
Could you use a little tea?
I’m sorry I don’t have any beer or wine
Might have a little whiskey if you need.

We can talk all night
We can talk all night
We can talk all night tonight
We can talk all night
We can talk all night
Talk all night tonight…

On second thought
Maybe I’ll make it a decalf
An Irish decaf

Swing Low Sweet Liberty
Lyrics By Shawn Taylor
based on Swing Low Sweet Chariot

I looked over Main Street and what do I see
Coming for to carry me home
I see some boxed up houses
Where my neighbors used to be
Coming for to carry me home

Swing low, sweet security
coming forth to carry me home.
Swing low, sweet Liberty
coming forth to carry me home

I looked over Wall Street and what do I see
Coming for to carry me home
I see a posse of lawyers
Golden parachute for me
Coming for to carry me home

 Swing low, sweet Luxury
Coming forth to carry me home
Swing low, sweet Liberty
Coming forth to carry me home

I looked over DC and what do I see
Coming for to carry me home
I’ve got an insiders seat
I write the rules for you and me
Coming for to carry me home

 Swing low, sweet society
Coming forth to carry me home.
Swing low, sweet Liberty
Coming forth to carry me home

I look over that battlefield and what do I see
Coming for to carry me home
I see a band of brothers and sisters
Standing there for me
Coming for to carry me home

 Swing low, sweet comradre
Coming forth to carry me home.
Swing low, sweet Liberty
Coming forth to carry me home

I look over that shelter and what do I see
Coming for to carry me home
I see an open bed for my family and me
Coming for to carry me home

Outside the Lines
Shawn Taylor (© 2010)

There's Something about a sunday afternon,
sitting by the river being lazy with you,
the sun comes up and the sun goes down again.
Or in the hills at night,
stumbling like we do, it doesn't matter,
anyway we do.

The sun comes up and the sun goes down again,
just walk beside me once again.
When we feel the frost a cutting,
we'll know it's time to get inside,
but for now we'll just step back and
we can live beyond the lines.
For now we'll just kick back,
and we can live beyond the lines,
For now we'll just lay back and
we can live beyond the lines.

There's something about a sunday afternoon,
sitting by the river being lazy with you.

Running again

By Shawn Taylor

You know I’m under the gun these days
Haven’t got much time to stick around
2000 miles since morning
2000 before we touch the ground

“You know I can’t go on this way”
You said, you turned and walked away
Left me with the bags in line
Broken heart
Nothing to say
But, I’m thinking of you

 Midnight sun and making love
You wish it could go on that way
But then you close your eyes
The years are gone
And you wake up in the day to day
Of paying bills and getting on
And trading all your time away
Till the very things your fighting for
Have nearly gone and slipped away

 And your running again
Gone and bowed your head down to the wind
Your running again
Running, I don’t know my way
Laying down the cards to leave the game
And I’m headed your way

There was a time not so long ago
We lay down in the grass and know no shame
I think in time once again we’ll know
The kind of piece we knew those days

 Midnight sun and making love
You wish it could go on that way
But now it’s hotel rooms
And coffee cups and your staring
At an empty plate

 And your running again
Gone and bowed your head down to the wind
You’re running again
Running, I don’t know my way
Laying down the cards to leave the game
And I’m headed your way

You know I’m under the gun these days

Drive
Shawn Taylor ©2010

Cry if you've got to
I won't think no less of you now
Just bite down on that there
A shot of this, you'll feel half alright
Just don't reach towards the light

Just breath slow and steady
That's right all thats left is you and me
And I ain't got the words man
That one you took was surely meant for me;
So don't reach for the light

 Ahhhh..........Ahhh...ahh...
Don't reach for the light

Draw up your arms now
I'll prop you up and I'll take the wheal
And drive like the Devil
Has that stuff kicked in man how do you feel?
Just don't reach for the light
Don't reach for the light...

Just think of the sweet life
You've got if we could just make it out
But don't dream on it now man
Right now that back seat there's your home
Just fire out towards the lights
Just fire out towards the night

Free
Shawn Taylor ©2010

Just a smile,
don't waste the words
The air is thin up here
and besides
there really are no words
To have shared
such times with you
Well I could die today
and live on in any one of those moments with you

Boil the water
chilli in a bag
the tent is ready
kick your feat up in the grass
Free

Across the years
all the miles
stretch out like a thin grey line
across the Great Divide
Across your lips
across your smile
a life of love is writ
and those lines still drive me wild

Cross the river
dry your clothes up in the branch
The day is cold
but it's so warm there flesh to flesh
Free

Balance
By Shawn Taylor © 2017

Dance, with me
Because I can’t find my balance

Dance with me
Dance, with me
Because I can’t find my rhythm
Dance with me
Down by the river

 Sing, with me
Because, I don’t have the words or find the key
Please dance with me
Breath, with me
Because I can’t find my center
Just breath with me

 Down by the river
Rolling, dancing
Singing on to the seas
Through the fog of new mornings

We can breath

 Laugh, with me
Because I can’t find my faith right now
Please laugh with me
When down from the mountain
Falls a boulder with a thunder
Like the river to the sea
Until it’s worn like a pebble
The softest pebble on the beach

Dream, with me
Dream that this all just some crazy dream
And dance
Dance with me
Dance, dance with me
Love, love with me
And dance
Dance with me

Resolutions
by Shawn Taylor © 2017

I won’t let me phone rule me no more
Drop my plan and cut the chord

I won’t put my face in your book anymore
Scrub my profile
Go out and mow the lawn
Have a conversation face to face
Hold my head up from now on
Live in real time air and space

I won’t let my phone rule me no more

I won’t keep my mind pinned across that pixel floor
I’m lacing up my boots and setting free
Going for a long walk
Hope you come along with me

I won’t answer e-mail anymore

If you want top stay connected
Feel free to walk along
And I don’t keep my date book anymore
No more buzzing bells, alarms
Or appointments anymore

And I don’t need your paycheck anymore
You know what you can kiss there Sir
It’s time I move along

Oh wait, let me just take that last thing back
So many things I need
For so many things I lack
But sometimes after hasty words
There is no turning back

And I won’t let my phone rule me no more

‘Least I won’t let my phone rule me no more
I won’t let my face be scrubbed across that pixel floor

I’m packing up my bags and setting free
Going to breath some fresh air
Hope you come along with me
I won’t let my phone rule me no more
I won’t keep my mind in my pocket anymore
I’m freeing up my thumbs to hit the road
Listening now

To where it is
The wind says I must blow
I’m listening now
To where it is
The wind says I must blow
I swear I’ll never
Let my phone rule my life
Anymore

Wandering Roots
By Shawn Taylor © 2017

I’ve got wandering roots
I’ve got wandering shoes
I’ve got a dollar in my pocket
I’m not coming home with change
I’ve got curious ears
I’ve got reactive eyes
I’ve got a wandering, wandering
Wandering mind
I’ve got wandering roots

I’ve got wandering roots
I’ve got a wandering soul
And two worn out souls
To show my fortune for it
But, the smile on your face
Reminds me that you know
That the deeper and deeper
And deeper it grows
My firmly planted heart

So, I’ll sit right down with you
We can watch the grass grow
From the seeds of our own roots
And we’ll love the whole day through

We’ll go with it wherever it will take us

So I’ll sit right down with you
We can watch the tide roll in
Wash our tangled roots

Because the love we plant is true
We’ll grow with it
Grow with it
Grow

Wherever it will take us.
Wherever it will take us.
Wherever it will take us.
Wherever it will

For What It’s Worth
By Steven Stills
As peformed by Shawn Taylor & Wandering Roots

There's something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there
Telling me I’ve got to beware

I think it's time we stop children
What's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Free people speaking our minds
Getting so much resistance from behind

It's time we stop now
What's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

What a field-day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly say, hooray for our side

I think it’s time we stop
What's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
You step out of line
The man come and take you away

We better stop now

What's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

Stop now
What's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

Stop now
What's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

We’ve got to stop now
What's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

Love Is The Water
by Pat Wictor
as performed by Shawn Taylor

You say your heart’s been turned to stone
You say you want to be left alone
You say love only made you weep and moan
Let me tell you something that you know in your bones

CHORUS
Love is the water that wears down the rock
Love is the water that wears down the rock
Love is the power that won’t be stopped
Love is the water that wears down the rock

You say waiting for love takes too long
Dulls a sharp mind

Weakens the strong
You know you may be right
And you may be wrong
‘Cause love can make a mountain come tumbling down

[CHORUS]

You say your soul is like a dry river bed
Stopped waiting for the water long ago you said
better pray all night for the rain instead

love comes like a tidal wave over your head

[CHORUS]

River washes over every woman and man
Feet in the gravel
Mud in your hand
Nothing can stand against love’s command

Every bone that turns into a grain of sand.

[CHORUS]
[CHORUS…]

On Ice Cream and Parting
by Shawn Taylor © 2017

It’s getting old as winter
Cracked hands and bleeding lips

It’s getting old as the June bugs biting
And the linger of the ich
That’s getting as old as thinking
About time you haven’t got
I’m getting old as a cardboard box
Out drifting on the loc.

I’m feeling old as Yeller
Foaming from the lips

And if you took me down like thunder now
I would not resist
And even if I could
I’m cold like my coffee
Like the cotton on my tongue
It’s getting old the pills they give me

And this hunger in my gut
It’s getting old the lines they sell me
As if I were dead and dumb
It’s getting old the lines I’m singing
So I do believe I’m done

 Won’t you please
Share a bowl
Won’t you please
Share a bowl before you go
Won’t you please

share a bowl
Before you go

Before I go

It’s so cold and kind to my throat
Sweat caramel

When you go could please
Lock the door on your way out
Son its good to see you
Sweet memory
Say goodbye

It’s getting old as the weather

Just as quick as it can change
It’s getting old like Dora’s choices
All threes they always came
I’m flying high as a mountain
That’s crumbling to the sea

And if I hit the ground like thunder
That’s the story of you and me
It’s getting old this song I’m singing
So I do believe I’m done
It’s getting old the story I’m telling
So I best be moving on

Won’t you please

Share a bowl
Won’t you please
Share a bowl before you go
Won’t you please

share a bowl
Before you go

Before I go

Dime and a Bottle of Wine
By Shawn Taylor © 2017

Just give me a dime and a bottle of wine

Not sure just what I've been a chasing
But it seems I've lost it along the way
Was it the question or the buzz that left you hanging
Like the smoke rings dissipating in the eves

Sometimes I loose my mind
There’s no excuse and
I'm not trying to hide
One step ahead
One step behind
It all catches up with you in time

Just give me a dime and a bottle of wine
Could always find some place to kill the time
But if you're not busy living boy
You're busy dying
Testify
Had to walk away

Put it away
Put it away

Open the door baby it's cold outside

I don't have a key please let me in
I'll mend my broken ways
I'm sorry for the things I've said
For what I've done
You know I'm most ashamed

Some monkeys come to where you oh so thin
That you can't stop to turn the page
When reason's gone and all that's left is sin
You're stuck on the inside looking in

Give me a dime and a bottle of wine
Could always find some place to kill the time
But when you're not busy living boy
You're busy dying
Testify
Had to walk away

Put it away
Put it away

Remember the clouds

Up where we stood high once before
Before my fall
Before you closed the door
The seeds we planted

Are all grown up and are on their own
You're free of me

But these memories I roam
Sometimes I loose my mind

There's no escape
You just get left behind
Like smoke-rings blowing through your mind

It all catches up with you in time

Give me a dime and a bottle of wine
Could always find some place to kill the time
But when you're not busy living boy
You're busy dying
Testify
Had to walk away

Put it away
Put it away

Not sure just what I've been a chasing

Simpler Then
by Shawn Taylor © 2017

Up with the sunrise
Bagels and cream cheese
Wide open spaces
And sweet alpine air
Pack up our stuff
Tighten our laces
Hike ‘till the dusk
Set our tent down somewhere

Miles away

Where it’s stroganaugh for dinner
That we cook in a bag
Hold each other as stars fall on high
And we’re laughing on dreams
where the road never ends
So high when we lay down at night

California
High clear Sierra crest
California
So much simpler then

When the rains come
You put on your suit
Stay as dry as you can
Through the long drought
You camel up water
Hike as fast to the next hole as you can
Where you can find water
Get you through the next day
Not a road in the distance
Not a soul in our way

And we can make love
In the light of the day
In the highlands

California
so much simpler then
50 pounds on the shoulder
Is lighter now than the life that we live

‘Cause now the mountains are higher
and they’re made up of bills
and there’s devils that live on the page
and our loads now are heavy
kids are counting on us
and the trail here’s not always so clear

As a sunrise from Whitney
To fill up your soul
For a lifetime to come in a frame
And I dream now to take them where
They’re free to roam
And the air’s safe for them there to breath

California
High clear Sierra crest
California
So much simpler then

But then we walk through the woods
In the park down the street
From our house
And the trail takes a turn
And the kids jump and shout
There’s a junction ahead
A new someplace we’ve never been

California
High clear Sierra crest
California
So much simpler then
California
High clear Sierra crest
But our lives now are higher
Than any mountain where we’ve ever been

Blackwater
By Shawn Taylor © 2017

I left the city when the water rose
My life was over there
My friends were gone my place was toast
And I’d been headed down a bad, bad road
So I dropped that stuff & hopped a boat
And headed for the gulf

I hauled those shrimp most every day
Hard work & salt air man they
Cleaned me out showed me the way
I left that bottle far behind,
Found a wife we had 3 kids
Bought a house and built a life

Now it’s gone, gone, gone.
All those shrimp are dead &
Gone, gone, gone, gone,
It’s gone, gone, gone,
With that blackwater rolling in.

I can’t pull anchor & move on
No one wants to buy my land
Can’t give this place away
Bank says I owe more than I can pay
Sell my soul, save my kids,
You can cart my heart away

‘Cause it’s gone, gone, gone,
That life I built for them is
Gone, gone, gone, gone,
It’s gone, gone, gone,
With that blackwater rolling in.

A man came by to say they’d upped the age
I could still join, they’d give me steady work & steady pay
At night when I lay down to pray
Know I protect the dream and keep all those demons far Away

But it’s gone, gone, gone,
That dream I’m fighting for is
Gone, gone, gone, gone,
    It’s gone, gone, gone,With
With that blackwater rolling in

At night I lay awake & pray hard for our kids
How can I look them in the eye just knowing how it is
And tell them everything’s alright?
So I Skype hello, say a prayer
And march on through the night

‘Cause it’s gone, gone, gone,
That life I built for them is
Gone, gone, gone, gone,
It’s gone, gone, gone,
With that blackwater rolling in

But it’s gone, gone, gone,
That dream I’m fighting for is
Gone, gone, gone, gone,
It’s gone, gone, gone,
With that blackwater rolling in

Now it’s gone, gone, gone.
All them shrimp are dead &
Gone, gone, gone, gone,
It’s gone, gone, gone,
With that blackwater rolling in

Goodnight
By Shawn Taylor © 2017

Goodnight, I’ll see you in the morning
I’ll see you when the sun is on the rise
Though now it seems so dark
Goodnight.

Goodnight, I’ll See you in the morning
You know I just can’t see the light
So now it’s time to close our eyes
Goodnight

It’s going to be a better morning
It’s going to be a better morning
Goodnight

Goodnight, I’ll see you in the morning
I’ll see you when the sun is on the rise
Split the darkness with it’s light
Goodnight

It’s going to be a better morning
It’s going to be a better morning
It’s going to be a better morning
It’s going to be a brighter day
Goodnight

     Granite Highs & Muddy Lows
                                         By Shawn Taylor  © 2008

Roll on over baby it's almost morning
Grab a cup of coffee
I've already packed the truck
With everything,
that I could think,
That we just might be needing
A space to breath in
A life to believe in
The tent and the dog
And the little money
We've been saving.

We'll drag our toes out in the sand
We'll bake ourselves for days on end
Then we'll climb so high
that we leave the land.
Anytime, Anywhere
Doesn't really matter
It's the heart of the matter
The love and the laughter
The fears that you're after
Let's lift our glasses
And we'll toast our dreams

Here's to granite highs and muddy lows
That’s just the way the story goes
High in the sky or down below
I'll be with you all the way
I'll be with you all the way

Look up, it's all blue sky's ahead
Our feet are wet
But the flame still burns
The tidal waves’ve’ turned back to land.
Doors may slam
Mirrors break
Names not worth repeating
The lies and the leaving
The self deceiving
Let's lift our glasses
And we'll toast our dreams.

Here's togranite highs and muddy lows
That’s just the way the story goes
High in the sky or down below
I'll be with you all the way

Drop your heavy thoughts into the well
Let's take a walk
Got nothing but time to kill
And wide open space for empty thought
Any-time, anywhere,
doesn't really matter
It's the heart of the matter
The love and the laughter
the fears that your after
and the seeds we plant along the way.

Here's togranite highs and muddy lows
That’s just the way the story goes
High in the sky or down below
I'll be with you all the way
I'll be with you all the way.
I'll be with you all the way....
